The Kensington is based in a large, modernised home for five families, set over three floors. Depending on family size and composition, each family is offered exclusive use of one or more bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom.
Families also have use of communal areas of the centre, which consist of a kitchen/laundry facility, a dining room/lounge, a multifunctional room by arrangement for key-working, family time/visitors, group sessions, private confidential meetings, a garden, and free Wi-Fi. Children and parents have access to a range of outdoor and indoor toys.
Excellent embedded partnership working enables families to receive an extensive level of support, which meets their holistic needs. The centre works exceptionally well with other professionals and this multi-disciplinary approach focuses on the best interests of children. Families receive protection from the strong safeguarding arrangements with the police and local authority safeguarding personnel.
It is important to emphasise that placements at TY are not intended to provide an alternative to social housing.
We provide the accommodation to sustain the range of services we offer to families to improve the quality of their own lives and achieve better outcomes.
